On the feast of St. Alban 2021, the parish welcomed the Lord Abbot of Farnborough Dom Cuthbert Brogan, O.S.B who presented the church with a relic of the patron. The solemn procession of the relics started after the Sung Mass which was accompanied by knights of various chivalrous orders including the Order of Saint Agatha, Order of the Holy Sepulchre and Order of Saint Lazarus.
A Pontifical Mass at the Faldstool was celebrated by the Abbot. The Mass setting was Messa a Quatro Voci da Cappella by Monteverdi which was sung by the Oratory Schola. A transcript of the Abbot’s homily can be found here.
The relics were taken to the shrine following the Mass accompanied by the litany of St. Alban. The shrine was blessed where the relics are now reserved.
