The Octave of Prayer for the Unity of Christians was marked this year at The University Catholic Chaplaincy with the pastoral visit of His Grace, Bishop Irenei and his episcopal court who celebrated Pontifical Divine Liturgy for the Orthodox Church in Cardiff. Afterwards there was a festal Dinner for 70 faithful to welcome the Bishop which was organised by the Russian Orthodox community in the Refectory at Newman Hall, University Catholic Chaplaincy, Cardiff. The Oratory of St. Philip Neri in formation at Cardiff received the Bishop who visited the Oratory chapel and then entered the Oratory to venerate the relics. The Chaplain Father Sebastian Jones presented the Bishop with a bronze medallion commemorating the State Visit of HH Pope Benedict XVI to Beatify Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman.
